Yeap, if everything goes as we hope (our agency said that since we went to court last week we should be able to get our adoption decree as planned and come home with Nina), this was our last weekend as a family of three, and we made sure we all had a nice time, specially Diego!
Yesterday it was Mark's company picnic and it took place at a amusement park; we tried the bumpy boats and cars, and a water roller coaster that almost got me sick! Diego has a nice time, but it's getting hotter and hotter here and at noon we headed home (also our yard maintenance guy was meeting us at home to spruce up our yard!). Today we went to the zoo, checked out the animals in the petting farm, the monkeys, flamingos, giraffes; but the hit was still the stingrays, which got Diego very excited every time he touched them!
The rest of the weekend and last week has been cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning. I did tons of laundry, cleaned the guest bathroom and bedroom (my mom arrives the day after our arrival from Russia), and made gluten-free pancakes for Diego to take to Russia. Yeah, I am trying my best to have options for him to eat there, hopefully he will be OK and won't get sick!
I can't believe in 4 days we are supposed to gain custody of Nina, on her birthday! I can't wait to hug her again and cover her up with kisses. You know, the last time we went there, it really looked like she remember us - the first time we saw her on trip 2 she started jumping when she saw us! The caregivers told us that she looks at the door all the time, waiting for us to come! At first it made me happy that she was thinking about us; but then I got sad thinking that she would have to wait 12 days until we could see her again... Oh well, it's part of this crazy process.
So there you go, probably the last update until Mark, Diego and I travel again on Tuesday morning. Oh, by the way, Diego did wonderfully in Houston at my sister's house when we were in Russia for trip 2. By the time we left he had stopped grinding his teeth and looked relax. So we have continued to give him his homeopathic medications and decided to take all that stuff with us to help him in Russia if he needs it.
Enjoy the pictures!
