Last night we came back from our Thanksgiving trip to the lovely Midwest! On Wednesday, Chicago welcomed us with some rain (and no umbrella), but the weather was fine the rest of the trip. As is every year, this was our only time to use our jackets and other warm clothes!
Besides visiting Mark's parents and celebrate Thanksgiving with them, this trip was full of cool moments: some "firsts" and some "lasts":
The firsts:
1. Hanging out with the "moms" at a dinner party: For the last couple of years I never felt confortable hanging out with the women at parties... they would talk about their babies, breastfeed in front of everyone, etc.. This time, I found it interesting listening and participating in the "baby talk".
2. Reading my first "Parenting" magazine: On Sunday, at breakfast, Mark's mom handed the latest issue of Parenting... Somehow they have been receiving them, and now that we will become parents they asked us if we wanted the subscription to be transfer... Of course we said yes!
The lasts:
1. Celebrating Thanksgiving as a couple... If the timeframes we have been given are correct, next year we will be a family of 3!
2. Going to a Punk/Rock concert with my hubby until 2 am... Nil8 is a band that Mark has followed since high school, so when he found out they were playing on Saturday night, he got all excited about it.. The bad thing is that we had to wait until 1 am to finally see them!! And even though there were bunch of people older than us (including the people in the band), we were just really tired and falling apart...
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving as we did!

Your posts always make me smile! Especially the punk rock band park. :-) I know how hard it is to stay up late now... and it's not even like we're OLD! I guess we're just not "young", huh? :-)
