Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We are finally back! Our trip to Vancouver to spend Christmas with my sister Mari Paz (which is Mary of Peace in English) and his husband Camilo was wonderful. Because of all the future trips to Russia and $$ associated, this year we decided to not travel to Ecuador where my parents live and take a trip to Canada instead. Despite the weather, Mari Paz and Camilo did an awesome job showing us the best of Vancouver and doing fun stuff for Christmas, like going to see the Christmas Lights at Stanley Park!

Before we headed off to Vancouver, my sister and I "agreed" that there was going to be no major presents exchange to limit the expenses for them (they just bought a house) and for us (because of the adoption). But on Christmas Day in the morning, this is how the Christmas tree looked:
And the majority of the presents were for our baby!!! As you can see, we got some toys, a little cow, spoons, bibs, soap, sippy cup, and pacifiers. We were very touched by Camilo and my sister's generosity!
2007 was a very special year for us; we went through tough times, and sometimes we wondered why God would "close" some doors to us... But at the same time, He opened another door and presented us the opportunity of adopting and bringing a child into our family. So, as many of the prospective adoptive parents, we look forward to the wonderful things 2008 will bring and all the joy we will feel once our baby is home! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
